ART
Unit 2 Area of Study 2 Art and the individual

Unit 4 Area of Study 2 Discussing and debating art
Explore the meanings and messages of a range of contemporary photographic images using interpretive frameworks. Reference will also be made to the points of view expressed in commentaries on photography at CCP – including artists talks, newspaper articles, catalogues and in BLOG discussion forms.
STUDIO ARTS
Unit 2: Design exploration and concepts
Explores the use of photographic materials and techniques in the production of photo-based art. The CCP current exhibitions include B&W mural prints, digital scans, video media, and mixed media investigation. Examine the use of different materials and techniques and why they are appropriate to their selected art form.
Unit 4: Studio production and art industry contexts
Discuss methods and considerations involved in presentations of photography and video media at CCP. Why the conscious choices on scale, mounting, framing and the manner in which the work is installed is critical for the artist and curator when work is exhibited. Also explore the major differences between the role of CCP as compared to public galleries, commercial galleries and other art spaces.
Through negotiation with the CCP education officer sessions can also be designed to relate to International Baccalaureate (IB), Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), TAFE and Tertiary courses.
